Use a strong gel (i.e. from WELLA) combined with girls hairspray it works perfectly for me.
AVOID using lots of cheap gel, it won't help you and it may also damage your hair. Use a good product, start from small portions and find the ideal portion for the result you want.
As far it concerns sleep, try sleeping face-down and go to bed if you are calm and really feel sleepy to avoid twisting around in your pillow and blankets. However In the morning you might need to fix some details with wet hands and some woman's hairspray, dont use gel on hair that has dry gel on it, you won't get the result you want.

gel is not the best choise, although it really helps. It will make u feel uncomfortable.Go to a barber shop and ask them to thined ur hair.u should do this regularly if ur hair really mess or thick.Once it get a mess go and wet it.but not too much wet.if ur hair messed up when u r sleeping, ignore it , that will happened on everybody, for example me.just make them tidy when u rinse.Don't comb ur hair back , that will make u looks like a dude

Use a pomade or Redken water wax...its a great product and your hair WILL NOT MOVE...gel is good but sometimes when it gets wet it stops working and when you rub it on something like when your sleeping it flakes off and makes it look like you have dandruff....water wax is the best way to go

Definitely go for the Got2B spiker. or ice spiker hair stuff. It works really well and dries fast. um...for sleeping and weather. You should wait till your hair dries from the spiker and the go out and you shouldnt have a problem. Dont sleep in it, but if you absoulutely have to, i would re-apply before i go to sleep and when i wake up. Good Luck.

There is a product called Got 2 B Glued. It comes in a yellow tube with purple writing. Use enough of that stuff, and your hair is like cement. You can get it at stores like Target or Wal-Mart, and it is really inexpensive.

Well my suggestion is don't do it before bed. Try it in the morning. And there isn't a way to keep it from flattening it out when it rains except to stay out of the rain i don't think...
