Like the Easter bunny, and egg? Both fertility symbols? Christianity asking us to be knowledgeable, not ignorant?
And that the Scriptures don't warn us about things because they are imaginary, but real? Like astrology and witchcraft?

I got pretty excited about this stuff years ago. Anymore it is sort of a big yawn for me.

Studying and reading about it really does not bring me closer to the divine or bring me more peace and joy. But to each his/her own.

Symbols are not exclusively owned forever by anyone, especially by those who worship idols and false gods.

Symbols often have multiple meanings, for different groups and for different purposes.

Im this respect, "The Two Babylons" is a superb work of fiction, anti-Catholic propaganda, and pure fantasy.

Even a formerly pagan symbol means nothing to those who associate other things with it.

An image of the Blessed Virgin holding her son, Jesus, who is truly God, has nothing to do with false, pagan gods, no matter what some wackos choose to associate it with.

The easter bunny can be a symbol of abundance and new life, and not pagan fertility rites. Plus, bunnies are cute animals. Kids like them. That's not the least bit pagan either.

The easter egg can be a symbol of Christ's tomb, from which he emerged victorious on Easter Sunday, the source of new life for all mankind.

And that's the truth, not some old pagan myth.

Symbols are just that symbols. They can be used for anyone at any time.

Example: the swastika was used by the Nazis. Native Americans used it first to symbolize immortality.

Example: Catholics had pictures of saints. Vodou practitioners used the symbols in the pics to represent the lwa.

Example: The cross was used to symbolizes the four cardinal points by Greeks and older civilizations. Now it is used to represent Jesus in Christianity.

No one religion owns a symbol. You can make your own symbols. As long it means something to you that is all the matters

Even in Israel you do no longer in one day livestock exterior interior the chilly and moist. Gold, frankincense and myrrh have been the costly presents of the day, given with the help of pagans. As for 'God ingesting', this became into an rather distinctive element interior the secret religions than it became into to Jesus. He meant that his dying became into mandatory, and that they'd desire to keep in mind him later on until they understood. And as to his resurrection this fairly surpassed off. thousands observed him alive after he became into easily lifeless, you do no longer stay to tell the story a spear to the chest, and those martyrs went to their deaths telling the international Jesus is Alive while all they mandatory to do became into admit that he wasn't. yet he's alive.
