A health crisis can be any illness that comes on suddenly and/or threatens the life of a person. It might be acute appendicitis; cancer; heart attack; an accident with serious injuries; blood clot; or such. A mental illness is one that causes the mind to not function properly. mental illness is often considered t be the absence of mental health. though a significant part of the population experiences mental illness, some sources report 1 in 4, there are degrees of acuity and disability. recent thinking suggests that mental health exists in flux, and changes accordingto experiences and the perceptions of these experiences (see zubin and springs' stress vulnerability model).
when experiences are too stressful the symtoms of mental illness can occur. the point at which this happens is different for each person, as is the response. one idea about the mechanism of the symptoms is that the brain is unable to resolve issues in rem sleep. upon waking the world is percieved through both the logical and rem, so causing dream like states to occur. see kingdon and turkington for delusions/ beliefs.

health crisis is a total malfunction of your system due to some form of problem(s) you accept you cannot handle and mental illness is basically a malfunction of your mental processing system. although the effects of both are similar they exist independently....
