Yes.....we have an evolutionary approach anxiety bred into us over thousands of generations.
Women have a similar panic trigger called Last Minute Resistance when they feel a sense of huge impending loss at the moment when they feel sex might be inevitable.
This is also an evolutionary reaction.

The guys that does not have anything really to loose, usually takes the risks, but the ones that need to do the asking is so scared of rejection ???
