No. You are little more than a child yourself at 17 and have barely begun to live. You will not be able to do a lot of things that teens do - travelling, further education, clubbing - in other words, having fun. And you will have little or no money to raise a child and kids are expensive. The most important thing - you will not have any words of wisdom to pass on to your child apart from 'don't have children too early'. I would not advocate having a child at the age of 17 at all.

I was a single mum at 17, and althought i love my little boy to bits (he turns 4 on saturday) I would love to have my time over again and not get my self into that situation..... I had alot of family support but that doesnt make up for the way that you feel sometimes. I hated not being able to go out and do what i wanted when i wanted to, I met my current partner a couple of months after my son was born and within six months i was pregnant again, as i said i love my kids but give your self a couple more years to find out who you are as a person, and exactly what you want out of life because believe me at 17 you dont realise how hard life really is..

you have your whole life in front of you.why would you want to become pregnant at such an early age honey?

how will you study or get a job when you have a baby?

once you have the baby and you are stuck indoors while your friends are out having fun will you regret it?
and once you have a baby and find yourself stuck in doors you start to think well i may as well have another baby as i am tied down any way. before you know it you have a house full of children. and no prospects.

wait until you are a woman and you know what you want.

for now enjoy your self and live a lot.

Not usually. Even if you have some reason for thinking your fertility won't last past your teenage years, you could always adopt a child later on. 17 is a stressful enough age, what with the many choices you have to make about the future and your education or career, and you won't necessarily have found your life partner at that age.

No,not a hope. At 17 you should be out enjoying life not sitting at home changing nappies & making bottles. Don't even think about it. There's planty of time for babies in 10 years or so.

its upto the individual id say! speaking from exsperiance i wouldnt reccommend it. i had my first at 18 and second at 22 if i know what i know now i would have waited not that i regret having them because i love my kids to bits but it is really hard work and when all ya mates are going out and ur stuck at home changing dirty nappys its not fun at all, have a life and get a career first kids can wait dont forget you have em for life so enjoy ur own first.

no it's not you haven't experienced enough yet to teach a child. also i very much doubt you are financially capable of suppporting yourself...will the father stick around? think about this carefully...i find it diffcult even now sometimes you just can't take the crying and whingeing which you know is for no real reason and it does your head in. i love my baby and generally he's very happy but it can be very exhausting both physically and emotionally.

Its not a really a very good idea. you need live a bit because when you become a parent you should put your child first. Do you go out clubbing with you mates or do you buy that new pair of shoes you kid needs? My mum had me when she was 16 (she was married to my dad) she said that although she loves me, she feels that she lost her teenage years.

not at all. do you know what abstinence means? doubt it. well let me tell you. its saving sex for marraige. it should be a special thing with a special someone. you don't even know what love is at 17. you can get STD's or sexual transmitted diseases. that can even be deathly. DO NOT ever drop out of school. you need your education. don't bring a baby into the world unless you have a good paying job so that you can give that baby everything it needs.

Not really advisable at so young an age. I understand it is very expensive to have a family. At 17 you can hardly be started on any career. If you really
