We really don't much care about where you go on holiday, or how little Johnny is doing in school , or how your boob job went, we just ask to be nice. All I really care about is giving my clients fabulous hair.

Not all hairdressers REALLY care about what your holidays are like, but they do want nice tips so making small talk with their customers is a great thing to do. They can't ask extremely personal questions, so questions like "Where are you going for the holidays" and "hows school going-what's your favorite subject" are really the only paths to take. When a hairdresser asks you these questions, know that they are friendly, care about their customers, and expect big earnings!

i been to many n i wanna b 1
well i see it as a way to get a feel for what the person is like n into which makes them feel more comfortable and gives the hairdresser more idea of what the person likes/into so then has a better idea of what the person is askin for so a betta job is done and a larger tip is earned

They're just making small talk. Most hairdressers just like to talk a lot to make their customers feel comfortable and stuff. Most of the time they probably don't really want to know.

They are probably just trying to make conversation, and the topic of where you are going on holiday is a safe one and unlikely to offend anyone.

umm i'm one and personally if you dont tell me where you are going I dont ask but when you say you are gonna so something for a holiday or going away then to me its like you want me to ask O GURLL WHERE ARE YOU GOING so we all dont want to know but when you offer a bit of information we try to help you perhaps feel more cormfortable and relaxed at thyre moment so stop talking if you are doing to much wondering.

They ask questions like that to start up conversation. A good stylist talks with her clients

They're making small talk, wouldn't it be weirder if you didn't talk at all through your hair appointment?
