considering he ripped a lion in half, and he pulled two pillars apart, how much strength do u think that would take to do that? i believe it 's well-known a crocodile can generate up to 3,000 pounds per square inch of bite force, so i was wondering how much psi do u think it would take samson to do all the stuff the bible says he had the strength to do? also i believe the bible says he killed 1,000 phillestines with a donkeys jaw bone.

Samson I'm glad you asked that!
One key point of the whole story is where did his strength come from.
Has anyone asked that of say Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Atlas? You look at them and you know the mussels are everywhere.
Now imagine a Woody Allan, with out glasses, taking on a lion and killing him. How about slaying 1000 with the jawbone of an jackass.
Where did he get his strength?
How strong was he, as strong as he needed to be! To move the pillars, I seem to remember that it required something like 3000 pounds per square "foot" "inch" to move the pillar when it was fully loaded (people on the roof structure)
[a model was construed of the temple, and the math work out to something like that]

I'd guess that a normal man could do all of these things. If it was a small lion, or a drugged lion, killing it would not be difficult. As far as tearing it apart, I would suppose that tearing a lion apart takes more patience and anger than strength (once it is dead of course). Additionally, ancient pillars were not built for lateral strength at all (only to hold things up), so I think any reasonably strong man could have done this (again given patience, or some leverage/pulleys). Killing 1000 people with a donkey's jaw bone? I doubt any man who has ever lived could be skilled enough, lucky enough, and have enough endurance to kill 1,000 armed men, even if that man had a machine gun. Even the great Horatius (who held off an entire army single-handed) only did what he did because the men were only able to come at him one or two at a time. The mob can overwhelm any man and, if nothing else, suffocate him. I believe that these stories are exaggerations, at best.

hmmm let us assume you have found...the pounds per sq. inch...then what ...are you going to find out..whether..that kind of force can kill phillistines etc. A lost cause in my view. The story of Samson is -- a historical story told to us --by people who saw, felt and lived during those times. We can not and should not compare human strength in those years to to-day's strength. The point is -- it is a story and let it rest like that with a moral outcome -- do not fool around...with a man like Samson -- with or without hair. All said with the best of intentions.

i think of the Bible writes approximately Samson slaying an entire military with purely a jaw bone of a donkey. Thats might look like superhuman potential like Troy. there is likewise a tale approximately him knocking down 2 great pillars, destroying a construction in its technique. i do no longer even think of the adult men competing interior the reliable adult men contest have the capacity to come back on the brink of Samson's potential, so i think of he did have superhuman potential.

I would say he was as strong as he needed to be for whatever situation he faced. His strength was derived from God, so I would have to say it was unlimitted, as long as he was doing God's will.

God may have granted him enormous strength, but he still had a weakness that led to his demise: WOMEN.
