You pick up the receiver and dial the number, just like calling next door except there are a few more numbers. Sheesh.

Okay so lets say the number you want to dial is 123-4567

44-20-123-4567

you dial the international code + the country code +city code+local number

international code for the UK is: 44

The country codes are as follows:
Belfast North Ireland: 2890
Birmingham England:121
Wales:2920
Edinburgh Scotland:131
Glasgow Scotland:141
Liverpool England: 151
London England: 20
Manchester England:161
Southhampton England: 2380

Inorder to dial correctly you need to know the region of the Uk the person you are calling is in. Hope the This helps!!

Check the country code, For UK it's 0044. Dial this first then the UK number omitting the first 0 of the UK number. All UK numbers start with 0. For example my area code is 01942 so you would dial 00441942 then my number.

Check in the front of your telephone directory. There is a section in one of the first few pages around where the map for area codes is. There is a step-by-step instruction page for overseas calls, including the country and city code. Hope this helps.
