I do think you're asking a question while wanting a certain answer. Namely, you're looking for "Dont' have any other gods before me" and that Jesus is just a tag-on god that Christians came around and added to the collection.
In all fairness, being a Christian myself I can't answer this question the way you want me to. I can only speculate that it wasn't necessary for the son of God to be mentioned. The son of God (the Messiah) is mentioned numerous times through the Prophets. God often chooses to reveal things in His own time, not ours.
So it's entirely possible that God just didn't need Moses to know about His Son.
Then again it could just show that Christians added the Son of God and Jesus either wasn't the Son of God, or he never claimed to be the Son of God in he first place.
Depends how you want to look at it, man.

In Exodus, the majority of the time that God is mentioned, the term "God" in Hebrew was "Elohim", the plural form. In essence, the triune God was speaking to Him, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. So Jesus, in His preincarnate state, did speak with Moses and spent time with him on the mountain. It is generally accepted that whenever the term "The angel of the Lord" is used in the Old Testament, or we see a manifestation of God on the earth, such as Gen.3 :8, it is the preincarnate Christ.

That is Jesus. Jesus is the Christ. Jesus Christ is LORD.
1 Cor. 10:1-4. Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud and all passed through the sea;
And all were baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that went with them: and that Rock was Christ.
Ex 13:21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light; to go by day and night:
Ex 16: And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread the LORD has given you to eat. (Jesus is the manna from heaven.)
Ex 17:6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb: and thou shall smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Phil. 2:9-11 Wherefore God also has highly exalted Him & given Him a name above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of things in heaven, in earth, and under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus Was the Anointed Son of God not God. Jesus is my Lord And Savior.
the old testament did talk of a Messiah or Anointed translated Christ. To Come & He Did. and Praise God for him He anointed me.
