OK, I did a silly thing and decided to try home hair color. I am a natural redhead/strawberry blonde, and I wanted to go for a richer red color (I was thinking Marcia Cross). I used Clairol Herbal Essence in radiant ruby, now I look more like Morticia Adams, my hair is almost a deep burgundy....a very unatural looking color, almost punk rock. Amyone out there have any ideas????

wash it twice a day and slowly it will fade. then in about a week or two dye it using a redish brown it will lighten it . if not then go to a salon.

First off when you first dye your hair it always comes out darker, it will lighten up a bit. Red shades also fade quickly so just wash your hair with really warm water & use regular shampoos. If it's still not getting any lighter you should go & have it done professionally, they will be able to bring your hair back to close to it's original color, they could possibly strip the color you have in it.

The same thing happened to me. So I waited for a couple of days and went back to my natural color and left it a little longer. About 10 minutes and low and be hold i got my original color back. Try it, it really works. Don't worry the results were great. Good Luck!

you need to wash your hair with tea tree shampoo (by paul mitchell) or wash it with a little baking soda mixed with your shampoo (it will help strip some of the color out of your hair without damaging it). also a strong moisturizing conditioner will help take some color out. other than that...you may need to recolor your hair...not good though (it will dry it alot) if you can wait just keep shampooing and it will lighten up!!!!!!

Get some prell shampoo and shampoo your hair several times. You could also use dish soap but yikes!! At any rate either one should strip enough color off.

get it fixed at a salon if you don't want to mess up again, and tell them exactly what you want...if you need it right away, Feria works better than Herbal Essences...and try your luck at blonding it out. don't pick a sharp blond, something mild. good luck!
