I used to have the exact same problem. Here are a few tricks I've learned:

1) NEVER brush your hair. Ever. If you need to detangle your hair, comb it after getting out of the shower or something.

2) Always use conditioner. Use it every time you shower.

3) Don't shampoo every day. Maybe every other day or something.

4) Talk to your stylist about getting layers. I used to wear my hear up in a ponytail every single day, because my hair resembled a large triangle. But when I got layers, my natural curls formed more easily and didn't look so unnatural and frizzy.

5) If all else fails, try a lot of different updo's. Try seventeen.com

It depends how coarse ur hair is...if its really course or thin u should blow-dry it after washing it...try some shine spray or hot oil treatment to help reduce damage from the blow-dryer.Try to use a big comb or brush because little ones tend to make it frizz up....hope this helped!

Try washing it and as soon as you get out of the shower comb it with a wide tooth comb. Then let it air dry. That way it'll have been brushed but it won't get frizzy. Hope I helped!

You should put a lotion or curl cream in it. Let it air dry or diffuse. Dont brush your hair....use a wide tooth comb instead. Once you put the stuff in it, it dries, leave it alone and dont touch it (it will make it frizzy). You should also only wash it every 4 days or so.......

how long is your hair? I have a friend with long hair like that she wears it layered it looks really nice on her.. I know someone else with short hair she gets one of those big curling brushes so that the curl is so big it's almost straight.

I have the EXACT same problem...I put bed head in it and use that new Herbal Essences totally twisted. If that doesn't work just take some gel and comb it through your hair with your fingers. (you can do the same thing with mousse)

Instead of using plastic brushes, use wooden ones, though they may be kinda expensive. or you can put some hair spray like spray gel.
