Taste is hard to describe without comparing it to another taste... and one could compare a fish to another type of fish, or describe the degree of "fishy-ness" in a type you may not have tried. But since you don't eat seafood at all, there is little basis for comparison.

Some say taste is as much as 80% smell. If you plug your nose and taste a vanilla milkshake and a chocolate milkshake, you cannot tell one from the other.

The best way to understand what fish tastes like would be to take a deep sniff of a nicely cooked piece of fish. (not raw fish, as it doesn't taste like it smells raw). Breathe it in through your mouth and your nose and that will give you the best idea of what it tastes like.

The best that I can say is that IF you have any allergy medication that is to be taken if you are exposed to or accidentally ingested, I suggest that you have it ready to take because foods like lobster and other seafood has it's own unique tastes and need to be experienced for oneself.

You're not missing anything. It tastes like...fish. Have you ever had eggs without hot sauce or anything in it? Just a plain cooked egg. That is kind of what seafood tasted like.

Blech. You're not missing anything.

I'm the same way. Cannot eat shellfish or fish without getting sick. Lobsters? They're nothing but ocean cockroahes. If cockroaches were that big, we would find a way to breed and harvest them! Not for me.

I am allergic to all poultry. I have to read labels on hot dogs, sausage, and lunch meats. It is possible to eat poultry without knowing it at the time. I am also allergic to honey, beets, cherries, and coffee.

don't go to Nantucket--it would be like sending someone on a severely restricted diet to spend the day in dunkin doughnuts!
