No but only if you want to among whites and not see the actual Mexcian life style and people. If you want to expericence Mexico and its culture then look else where like La Penita, Los Ayala, San pancho etc. Sayulita is full of gringo who are stuck up and want to feel better then the rest especially the locals. I think Tourists should come to see the Mexcican life, experienmce it and see the country for what it is. if one wants to stay among whites and feel as if you still live back home then stay home, why come to Mexico at all. (ps....I am a american living in Mexico.....with mexcians not whites and not feeling superior to the Mexcians so i am talking from my experience)

It's an incredible place to stay, the water is warm and clean, and it's good for surfing too (in case your kids like surfing).

Though it's a common destination for backpackers, I think it is great for family vacations too.
