What helps with sexual side effects, ie vibrators, etc.? I know I need to take my meds, as I recently stopped, and now have been weeping again, started fighting with my BF again......

well some do. i am on cymbalta and mine went away after quite awhile though, like 6 mons. please dont stop taking your meds without consulting your pdoc. if the side effects are too much maybe he can try you on some other antidepressant. you pdoc cant help you if you dont communicate with him fully.

In my experience, tricyclic anti-depressants such as Elavil seem to have fewer sexual side effects than SSRIs. On the other hand, tricyclics have a strong sedative effect that I did not experience with the SSRIs.

Most side effects associated with SSRI's should disipate as the drug reaches a steady state. If they persist for more than a week or two, you may want to try one that has a lower risk of this type of side effect. Your doctor will know what switch to make.

I do not believe they will diminish, this is one of the major side-effects. This is why some poeple are so hesitant to take them. There are many different ones you can try, maybe one will be better than the others. Good luck, it can be really hard.

Most side effects I've experienced lasted for about a week or so...
