assholes on their answers when someone askes a question about an illness or medication? They are not asking you for a diagnosis, just advice. Most people are smart enough to consult a physician, but it doesn't hurt anything to find out more about it before they do. I could go through most of the health category and answer most of the questions on here by "consult a doctor." Or my favorite one to read "don't ask on here, we aren't doctors." These people obviously don't have any good advice, so why not skip the question instead of making such an ignorant comment? There is a category for such questions, you know.

you know i had an experience like that recently and therefore i have decide alot of these people are so uptight i could get rich off of their lame hateful idiotic responses. i wanna have fun but some people are just nasty i suggest they turn off their computers or stay out of categories they are too stupid to know anything about. i dont ask for miracles but whats wrong with kindness. some people just suck. point blank are hateful fxcks and @ssholes. although alot of people are kind they may not understand just what you want but are at least kind enough to offer friendly advice and a few kicks and giggles. the rest of you uptight hateful jackoffs can go to MSN

I think in the case of something like medical advice, some people think that the best possible advice is to remind the questioner that a doctor's counsel is important

It may be necessary to start such a question with: I will (or have) consult a doctor but I am also looking for opinions from anyone with knowledge or experience.....

Perhaps this should be unnecessary but people really are worried that some young person will use some forum like this IN PLACE of seeking professional help.

i agree, its such a waste of time, but people want the points i guess (although i really dont know what theyre striving for...)

i think people are just bored. but it'd be nice if they left the good questions alone, and answered the ones that are put up for opinions and games and such.

if i want to know something about my health, i am smart enough to ask a doctor, but i like to put it on here, to see if theres anything i havent thought of, so maybe i can be more prepared or i can have other questions or suggestions to ask when i see my doctor.

i think there should be a way for us to take some points away if the person answers with 'ummmmm' or 'nope, ask a doc' or just 'get help' because its extrememly annoying

Personally, I try to answer the question as best I can, and then follow it up with the statement that you need to consult your doctor.
I do this because I don't want to be held liable for anything that the person does with my advice. I don't want them to think that my advice is any subsititute for a physican's opinion. And on some of the questions, the person asking the question will state that they can't afford to see a doctor and are looking for a diagnosis (or something to that effect), which obviously can't be done on a website.

Allot give rude comments as they just want the 2 points for doing it. You get allot of immature people on here. I would just disregard their comments as they obiously as you pointed out having nothing useful to contribute.

The reason for this is, for them, it's an easy 2 points.
