I recently started working at this gym/ raquet club. There are a lot of retirees & older Jewish ladies (I know because they tell me).

They keep telling me about their relatives & what college they went to & the awards they received. I think they are trying to set me up? I told them I am not Jewish but they don't seem to believe me.

So: anyone Jewish, do you ever NOT believe someone when they tell you they are NOT Jewish? No, I don't "look it" or have any distinctive nasal features or curly hair or dark skin. (I don't believe in these stereotypes anyway).

Also, wouldn't they be mad if I went out w/ their relatives & they found out I really wasn't Jewish?

I know next to nothing about the Jewish religion, but they keep telling me (2 ladies in particular) that they feel my Jewish "vibe" and they can see my "Jewish eyes" and "Jewish blood."

It's kind of funny but I don't want to insult them either... what should I do?

i've never questioned someone who said he wasn't jewish. it is silly for them to delude them selves. jewish vibe blood and eyes is a crock, no offense. tell them a rabbi told you so because one just did...

:)

Obviously they're looking for a "Shidduch"'; if not for themselves, at least for their relatives.

A good "Shidduch" will include a nice Jewish boy and a lovely Jewish princess, but in case that the nice Jewish boy isn't Jewish at all his "Jewish eyes" or "Jewish blood" will do just fine.

What should you do? Ask the lovely ladies for a picture of their Jewish relatives. If the girl is worth a try start celebrating Hanukkah (or at least talk about it at the gym), and if you don't find your interest at the Shidduch, just say: "Oy vey, dear ladies, your behavior is a shande far di goyim, a real chutzpah! leave my shidduch to MY Yiddisher Mama, yentas, and shalom al yisra'el."

They'll like it.

there is better than one way for a Jew to lose his or her Jewish id and to undertake a various faith or as a result to be raised in accordance to that faith is analogous to have switched over into it. as a result, the conversion of the guy in question grow to be needed. the problem is that possibly you think of that to be Jewish is to belong to a various race. truthfully no longer. To be Jewish is to belong to a various team of the human race. Judaism is a faith.

uh. no.

also, i REALLY wouldn't mention the part about "distinctive nasal features, curly hair or dark skin" because that is an unfounded nazi/antisemetic belief (just look at my picture, it should be enough of a proof).

Quit using phrases like "Oy Vey"and "Oy Gevalt". Makes you sound Jewishy.

Well, you can always put them in their place and say " Yeah, well, I'm not that racist, and personally, my bloodline is none of your business". Unless, of course, you find them hot and you wanna shag them-- then say" oh yeah- I come from a longline of Jewish cowboys."
