Send them a cease and desist letter. Send it certified mail return receipt - (paper trail).

If they call you AFTER the date and time listed on the CMRRR green card that they had signed it, remind them that they are violating your rights. If they continue, sue them for harrassement. Get yourself $1,000 from them. If you have caller ID, take pictures of it when they call. It will prove, in court, that they are continuing to call

Just telling them to cease and desist, without doing it in writing, does not protect your rights.

Also, the collection agency/creditors CANNOT tell you the reasons for the call, if they do, they are violating your fathers rights. All they can legally do in that phone call is ask to speak to him.

Go to the site I've listed, click on forums, and look for a full cease and desist letter.

You need to find out where they are calling from and then send a certified letter telling them that if there are any further calls to your residence from that number, you will file a complaint with the attorney general in their state.

If they are in your state, you can file a harassment complaint.

I once had someone from a video store calling my number a few times a day and leaving harassing messages. They were calling for the person who had the number before I did, and I told them so but they continued to call anyway. I filed a harassment complaint in Municipal Court, and believe me they stopped after that.

They can't legally call 3-5 times a day even if it is your debt. Follow the advice others gave about a 'cease and desist' letter.

If your father listed your phone number as a place to contact, they can and will keep calling you. You need to speak to someone higher up the food chain to get them to stop calling you and pass the message on to your father that his bills are affecting you. Good luck!

Yes they can call. You can stop the calls by saying to them. example. No one lives here by this name. "Remove" this number from your call list.

Once you have made this statement your calls should begin decreasing.
