I am interested in knowing if there are any cities in the U.S. that do NOT have heartwork or flea problems?

A majority of the cities in Alaska do not have any flea or heartworm problems. In the lower 48 the further north you go the less of a problem it becomes but I don't think there are any states in the the mainland that have a 0 risk factor.

The NE typically doesn't have heartworm problems and the flea problem isn't as bad as the SE

several years ago California did not have any heartworm..but now there have been some cases..but it is sort of rare, not many dogs take heartworm meds here. Most vets here don't recommend it unless the dog is traveling out of state.

Heartworm disease has been reported in every U.S. state.

Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont & Wyoming are currently "low risk states" for heartworms.

Cities that are at higher altitudes do not have fleas. Places in Colorado do not have flea problems, but they do have tick issues.
