They can have puppies when they experience their first heat (similar to a woman's period), when they reach sexual maturity around 6-9 months. Small dogs will reach maturity in that range, while bigger dogs may take up to a year to a year and a half to reach maturity. It's a good idea not to breed a dog until they have reached their second heat cycle, and only let them breed once a year (to avoid wearing out the mother dog).
Hope this helps!

Dogs can get their first heat as early as 9 months. But it is probably safer for the dogs to wait until they are at least a year and a half old if they are fully grown and 2 years if they are the larger type dog who isn't fully grown until then.

A female should NEVER be bred until after she is 2 years old, has been tested for any genetic or hereditary problems, is an excellent representative of breed standard, and has proper pedigree. There are more than enough "companion" quality animals in shelters and rescues.

Female dogs go in heat at 6 months. 64 days after heat ends. She can have pups. Heat duration is 21 days. From day1 of heat to day 10 she can not get preg. Day 11 to day 16 is the window that she can get preg. Day 17 to day 21 she is going out of heat.

It is POSSIBLE for them to become pregnant when they are approx 6 months old when they reach their first heat cycle.
However you need to give your dog more time to mature. Wait ATLEAST a year, if not TWO.
Please research breeding and canine overpopulation before you decide to breed your dog.
Also, something to think about. Each time your dog goes into heat, her chances of getting breast cancer, uterine cancer, or ovarian cancer increases. Please seriously consider spaying your dog.

Most breeds should never be bred before they're 2. They're bodies aren't finished developing yet and you can do skeletal damage.
