hahaha..that is a very good question.
It must be in case the workers go on strike and decide they don't want to sit there all day. Or if they want to taunt customers and lock the door for the fun of it and watch how confused they are.

Good Question, but this is why:
Before the store opened for trading, they had to keep the door closed to keep people out from construction, so the door is a fixture, why should they remove it then?
Hope it will answer why it has got a lock.

They probably have a lock on the door in case of a robbery or if they have to close the store down if not enough employees are available to work. Another reason could be that they might have to close the store down for cleaning.

Well anything can happen in 24 hours. There can be a weather advisory where people need to evacuate and the store needs to close. and so on ♥

because if a robbery happens you can lock the door and wait for the police. and in case the store has to close from a natural disaster or a power outage or stuff like that

All stores have locks on the doors - but that doesn't mean the lock is locked.

This is so if the store has to be closed for emergency or safety reasons it will make it harder for people to steal from the store.
