I don't think so, where is it written that it is? Besides, the concept of mortal sin is arises from St Thomas Aquinas, not a doctrine of Christ's as I understand it.

When the unity candle is lit at wedding, it symbolizes this unique relationship-leaving father and mother and joining as bride and groom in such a way that the two become one. I don;t fully understand sexual union, but I do know that God intended it to bond married people together in a way different from any other relationship. This physical intimacy is designed to be experienced exclusively and uniquely, and it is a model of the vulnerability and unity that should be experienced in all other aspects of the marriage.
Our world has come to view sex as simply an act of pleasure rather than the doorway to deepest vulnerability and sharing. That is why sex outside of marriage is so wrong. It destroys the proper view and function of sex as the ultimate act of intimacy that only two people can experience together. A casual view of sex devalues it and takes away one of the most powerful channels of communication between husband and wife. When sex is seen simply as a physical act, it loses its power to bond two people together.
As a religious person, I believe that pre-marital sex is a sin!

Yes pre-marital sex is a mortal sin indeed. Didn't Christ ask Mary Magdalene not to sin again. She wasn't married.

Theres no such thing as a "mortal" sin except we are Mortals and we can Sin.
Pre marital sex is as much a sin now as it was 5000 years ago.
God created man and woman to be mates for life.
He also was smart enough to know that having sex with every body in town would spread disease and death just like it is now. (AIDs).

The first thing that someone should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.
If God is supposed to be perfect how could She have made anything or anyone that wasn't.
Think about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely.
All this talk about sin sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me.
First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and figure out a way to get all of the students home safely.
How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?
It also assumes that God must have created us imperfect if we are sinners.
One might assume that God would be able to create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.
Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect.
If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.
If this is the case and Gods creations are perfect, then nothing that we can do could change what God created perfect and make it imperfect unless we think that we are more powerful than God is.
How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.
Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then it could hardly be logically for Gods creations to be considered to be anything less than perfect.
If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection that God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.
How likely is that????
Think about it.
The idea of sin is simple nonsense; a lie made up about God by religion.

The only sin which makes that you don't go to heaven is denying Jesus love for you.
Do not believe my word for it, don't believe because a priest says this. Check the bible, New Testament third book: John chapter 3 somewhere near verse 16:
3:14 ... even so must the Son of man be lifted up; 3:15 that whosoever believeth in Him have eternal life. 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have eternal life. 3:17 For God sent not the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through him
After reading this: do you believe that anyone who beliefs in Him does not have eternal life?

pre-martial sex a mortal sin... Sin is sin, no matter how big or small it is. pre-marital sex is sinning towards your own body. Even if you do it God forgives if you confess and ask Him for forgiveness.
