I bought pork chops 9 days ago and I have had them in the frig in original package...I read online it says to use within 3-5 days...but I'm cooking it in the oven right now....is it ok to still eat or no?
I'm very picky when it comes to meat...wanting to make sure it would still be good.

3-5 days is the general idea of how long the pork chops will be fresh before you use them. If they don't have anything growing on them or they don't have a bad (rotting) smell I would feel safe to use them.
On the other hand, if they do smell bad and/or you do see something growing on them, throw them out quickly, run to the nearest Mega Mart and get yourself a fresh supply!

You should have noticed when you opened the package if they were good or not, The smell of bad pork would have made you sick. also look for a greenish tint. But 9 days??? I wouldnt feed those to my dog. lol

I wouldn't eat them. That is too long. Next time, freeze them if you don't think you will eat them right away.
Just curious, how did they smell before you baked them. That should have been a good clue. Or, how does it smell right now. You may notice it's kind of 'sour'?
It wouldn't be worth it if you all got sick. I wouldn't take the chance.
