When i see private caller i just answer the phone and start speaking my native language (polynesian) into the phone. It makes the caller think that they have the wrong number.

I don't have caller ID---if the phone rings it is usually for one of my kids so I rarely have to answer it.if I'm the only one home & it rings, if I don't feel like talking to anyone I just don't answer it. I have also been known to shut the ringer off (then forget to turn it back on)

I deliberately don't answer either "private caller" or "unknown" at all. I've always been that way... I lived with my brother for the longest time and he was that way also.

Having grown up in a time when there was no such thing as caller ID I never look, I just pick the stupid thing up and say hello. Pure force of habit.

I don't i let the machine get it. never know who it is might befriend or bill collector or somone pulling a prank. i have few friends has private name and number but sometimes i don't like answer when see who it is cause i don't know why their calling or what kind mood their in thats what answering machine come in real good for.

I won't answer. It's the same way with my cell phone. If it comes in restricted or I don't recognize the number, I won't answer. I don't want to burn up minutes on a wrong number. If it's someone I know, I'll return the call.

Most of the time unless I am expecting a call from a doctor's office because most of the time they are "private". I also do not answer the "unknown" info either.

I put a block on my phone, anyone how don't give my there number...I don't want to answer!!
