That Mexico isn't the only Hispanic or latino country?

There is Cuba, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Chile, Costa Rica, Puero Rico, Paraguay, etc.

Honestly it is really VERY offensive when people make remarks about Hispanic people as a whole and they are only talking about Mexicans. I understand that many of the legal immigrants are Mexican, but Mexicans DO NOT respresent the entire HISPANIC culture or race as a whole. There is a huge, huge difference.

Is it that hard to switch your wording when talking about illegal immigrants from Hispanics/Latino to Mexican? Please? I mean we switched from saying "Indian" to "Native American", why not for us?

uh clone... I was born here too.

And I'm not "whining", I'm just making a point. I wasn't even calling anybody a racist to me like you were, I was just trying to correct people because it is very offensive to me and I have a right to correct people when they are wrong.

v...you said this: "However, according to statistics, 93% of illeagalls are from mexico."

I know this. This is why I get offended when people say stuff about illegal immigrants and label them all Hispanics, because most of them are just from ONE nation.

The word Hispanic is better to use given the situation. Mexicans certainly constitute a majority of those entering the country, but there are many people from Central America that do so via Mexico. In this case, the term Hispanic is more inclusive and more accurate. I should also mention that most of the people who insist on calling Indians "Native Americans" aren't. That is to say, most American Indians refer to themselves as "Indian".

Honestly, it sounds like you need an education. Most people DON'T say that. You have been in uneducated circles too long. Go outside of the teenager Q&A, news organizations etc. Most of us are well aware of the stats. However, according to statistics, 93% of illegals are from Mexico. Your question is a waste of time.

You need to: 1. Educate yourself, 2. Seek more references, 3. Talk to many more people then you have been.

Ok, and after checking, another 5% are from all the country's you listed and the rest of South America. Only 2% come from across the ocean, not counting the Asians that overstay their visa's. So this may include whatever race or country you are from or maybe not.

Illegal aliens come from many Hispanic countries. Most do come from Mexico, but if we were to single out Mexicans,we would be called some kind of racist by the left.Muslim males between the ages of 17 and 42 are the ones blowing stuff up,but the liberals whine and snivel when that particular segment of Islamic people are singled out.

Well for starters, when the pro-illegal movement refers to me as whitey, the forget to ask the question about my heritage. Honestly, I have Native American heritage. No one ever refers to me as hey you 80% cracker, 20 percent native American ... I feel offended by this, for now on I will call any one a racist that does not refer to me by my correct ethnicity

Mexicans are from Mexico, it is a nationality. If people come here and get confused between Mexicans , and Cubans .. then maybe the problem is they all look the same .

You honestly need to grow up, think about it ... There are Hispanics that were born in the U.S. , and they don't run around with this whinny attitude.

I never considered Mexican people Hispanics always just as Mexican. Hispanics are considered people from Latin America or northern South America. I believe Mexicans are in general good workers who are trying to make their lives better, if they just entered the country through legal channels it would stop this stereotype. Latin American's on the other hand do not impress me with their work ethics or lack there of, make many babies and collect from the US welfare system is what they do best, never mind getting deep into drugs and having no respect for the land they walk on (ei throw all their trash anywhere outdoors) too bad because I'm sure there are good people that have to live with that type of stereotype

Remember, this is 'open season' on illegals and particularly those from Mexico....

Its done because illegal Mexicans for the most part are the weak and have no rights in this country.....People just find any excuse to hate and vent racism....It is about race, especially when I hear them only single out Mexicans....

They make derogatory statements like, Mexicans are dark and short, or lets exterminate Mexicans, etc etc...Then I see thumbs up on these questions, its all about race sorry!

There are good Hispanics and bad Hispanics,
good Mexicans and bad Mexicans,
good Chinese and bad Chinese,
good Caucasian and bad Caucasians.
I am Hispanic and some of my best friends are Chinese, Hispanic, Germans, and Swedes, but all are now Americans. Not Chinese, Germans, Mexicans, or Swedes

I agree with Wiseguy.

It takes time for people to change their speech even if they have already changed their attitudes. That is because speech patterns are such a habit. For example, I know older people who still use the "n word" for African Americans out of habit even though their feelings about racial issues have changed. I hear them start to say the word, then change it to a better word, which indicates they are trying to overcome the habit.

In summary, time will help.

I know there are many Hispanic countries. If you are referring to comments made by Americans then try to understand the vast majority of them don't even leave the US, so how would they understand the rest of the world?

If your nation was once so completely conquered by Spain as to have continued to speak their language to this day, you are considered Hispanic. The term goes no deeper than that.
