Both... Many oppose illegals. Again, a lot of them support it. Whether or not their beliefs linger as strong as is needed to physically fight against them depends on the individual.
Muslims in our military-- They fought muslims in Iraq. Some muslims denied taking orders specifically because of "their lineage."
Some were granted that request, some were denied.. and many muslims felt as if ALL Americans hated them... Which isn't so.
But it's hard to develope or overcome something like that. Likewise, with Mexican-Americans.. I strongly doubt those who felt American, but loved their ancestry would commit to attacking their own.
Then again, it depends on the person and his/ her past. If they came legally, and waited it out however many years-- and oppose illegals so much as to stand in front of thousands and plee his patriotism for this country, showing no smypathy for illegals, I don't doubt he'd entirely dismiss a war, if it came to that.
In the end, it doesn't matter really. I don't see the Mexican army killing any Mexicans-- as I can see them targeting white's and perhaps blacks on a few occassions. Likewise, those deemed, "Mexican-Americans" that support illegals now-- would fight their own "white" and or "black" neighbor to win over for their cause; supporting illegals.
But, war is not pretty.. and it's not cool. In the end it doesn't matter because it's either you or him/ her... Which is it going to be?
Sometimes you are involuntarily ordered into war because of my above statement. You may be against it, but if he/ she is coming after you to take your life, are you going to let that happen, or stand your ground?

Bow sides probably, if you remember the last war between Mexico and the USA, in the 19th century. Not only mexicans americans go to the mexican army, even irish people went to the mexican side, because they felt more identificated with their chatolic roots.

First of all America is a continent, therefore it goes from the tip of Argentina to Greenland, Now it depends. Do the Chicanos feel more Mexican Nationalist or United Statish Nationalist, that would depend of the person, but as far as I know and feel, I feel more Native American Nationalist, remember we are direct decendents of Native Americans whether from the south of the border or north of it.

I have asked some this question, and I think it really depends on if they have ties in Mexico. Some would fight for the US, some would fight for Mexico, and some would flee and fight for no one. It really depends if the Mexican army is fighting them too, because they're here. too many possiblities. It is hard to say that you will fight against you country of birth if your Mom and Sister and wife are still there! Because in the time of war, we worry about our families first and foremost!

Obviously this is happening in Iraq as we speak. Theres a lot of Mexicans legal and illegal serving the U.S. in the line of duty. But ofcourse you dont hear that anywhere. Besides why would they go to war for?
P.S. Are you a Michael Jackson fan or what? Is John Karr your heroe?

Me With America. There are a lot of good people in Mexico and here, both legal and Illegal. But unfortunately the Illegals have to go back and wait in line with the rest of people applying to enter this country legally. That is not only the law ,but entering illegally here is not fair for the other Immigrants that are waiting in line.

I am 1st generation Mexican American....I would never want to see something like this happen, nor do I think it ever will, but hypothetically speaking, I would stand with USA.....Its my country and my loyalties are with this country....I do love Mexico and its culture, but I despise the govt and what it has done to its poor people....

Look at your own history. The most decorated American unit in WW2 was composed of Japanese-Americans who fought in Europe while many of their families were interned back in the USA.
