You can drink it anytime but only water gets to your system right away. Take it in small sips. If you wait till you feel thirsty then you are to late. Gatorade because it has nutrients and sugars has to go into your intenstine to get used. Water starts to get into your system right at your mouth. One benefit besides the nutrients of G is it tastes better so you may drink more. Personally you can save the G till the end of a workout if you need it at all.

Gatorade Rain (the lime flavour or the Tangerine flavour)
Kool aid makes my teeth tingle because of all the sugar, So I don't like it that much.

I would pick kool aid beacuse of the variety of flavors offered. In addition, you can mix flavors to create another one!!

I believe gatorade is a little bit better for you, so that would be my choice.
Plain water with a squeeze of lemon/lime juice is still my favorite, though.
