The secret to a really flat stomach is to get your body fat down. That is most important.
Then work up to this...

HANGING LEG RAISES.............20 REPS (No rest)
HANGING KNEES TO CHEST..... 10 REPS (10 seconds rest)
HANGING LEG RAISES.............10 REPS (No rest)
HANGING KNEES TO CHEST.....8 REPS (No rest)
LYING 6" LEG RAISES..............25 REPS (10 seconds rest)
LYING 6" LEG RAISES..........20 REPS (No rest)
CROSS-OVER AB CRAMPS..5 REPS (No rest)
ABDOMINAL CRAMPS .........40 REPS (No rest)
SPEED CRAMPS..................20 REPS (No rest)
KNEE PULL-BACKS..............20 REPS
HYPER-EXTENSIONS............2 SETS OF 15 REPS
SPEED CRAMPS...................MAX REPS (10 seconds rest)
KNEE PULL-BACKS...............MAX. REPS
HYPER-EXTENSIONS............3 SETS OF 15 REPS

Well you did ask.

Day 1 - Do 10, then do some others, do 10 more, some others, and 10 more.
Day 2 - Do 15, repeat
Day 3 - Do 20, repeat
get it?

something others...

1. Planks - lie down on your tummy, raise your whole body (rigid) keeping your elbows/hands on the floor, and on your toes. Hold it for as long as you can (count to 30 at least).
2. Lifts - lie on your back, feet on the floor close to your bum. Lift your butt until it is in a straight line, and clench your butt/kagal muscles. Still clenched, lift your left leg up to straighten it out. Hold it for as long as you can (count to 15 at least). Do it again with the right leg. One set should be 3 of each side.

It depends how much fat you have covering your ab muscles; no amount of sit ups and crunches will give you a flat stomach if there's a layer of fat on top. Stomachs as flat and toned as athletes can only be acheived on a strict training routine and diet which results in very low body fat levels.
Obviously do use toning moves for your abs, but you'll need to combine it with cardiovascular exercise; running, swimming and even walking and a calorie intake which is less than your needs (check out this link to find out how many calories you need):

You won't want to hear this, but just by doing crunches you won't flatten your belly and reduce the fat that's covering your abs. You have to learn how to eat healthy and stay away from junk food. You'll need a combination of cardio, weight training and abdominal work. You can't spot burn fat and crunches only strengthen and build your abdominal muscles, but without burning the fat through other forms of exercise, you won't see those flat abs you are wanting. Good luck!

Be careful to pull the tummy muscles IN when you do the situps, or you just build a round stomach.

Rest a day between each session or you risk injury, it is also wise to exersise the whole body or everything will be out of proportion, make sure you warm up first.
