If you get stuck or buried just eat your way out! Or just call me and I'll do it...

It can be perfectly safe, although I don't know if you're talking about working on a farm or at a grain shipper.

I grew up on a farm & did work around the grain processing machinery. It was perfectly safe, providing I gave it my 100% undivided attention - otherwise it was the most damn dangerous place on earth - there were SO MANY different ways to get hurt it made a steel foundry look like a playground.

In my years on the farm I saw plenty of different industrial injuries - and it was a pretty safe farm. Farms include blades & prongs & machinery to do all sorts of things & furnaces & blowers & heavy objects such as fertilizer bags (1/2 ton bags), hay&straw bales (big round bales) and many other sorts of "cause of death".

Stay alert & it's fine - otherwise, erm well, just stay alert !

Not dangerous, if you use common sense.
I did it for years. Ran elevators from the newest technology to one that ran off of a leather belt driven by a 1922 ford engine under the office.
Don't smoke inside, wear a mask when sweeping and shoveling, and wear a fall arrestor when you are greasing or loading cars and you will be fine...

Not very dangerous at all. However, if the housekeeping is bad with grain dust all around go to the next one for a job.
