The Bible clearly teaches that the intent of the heart, or the thought is just as serious as the act itself. Thoughts and desires stem from the heart. They reveal how we really feel, and how we really want to act. Jesus says, "You have heard that it was said, 'Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart" (Matthew 5:27-28). You see, thoughts not brought under the control of the Holy Spirit produce action; actions produces a habit; a habit produces a lifestyle; and a lifestyle produces a character.
This is why it is important to saturate ourselves in God's Word every day. I find the more I am in God's Word and thinking about God's Word the less inclined I am to sin. "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will" (Romans 12:2)
This kind of freedom only comes through knowing Christ. He loves you so much that He died on the cross for your sins, and He rose from the dead for you. He wants to save you. He wants to be Lord of your life--including Lord of your mind. There is no greater joy than knowing Christ, and having the freedom from sins power.

Lust is normal, but...It is the worst enemy of lovers.
The delight of the eye is the beginning of love. Lust if directed toward your lover is in accordance with Gods plan. But when directed to another could be devastating. You don't have to be a Christian to appreciate this.
Those of you in a monogamous relationship , control your sexual urges toward the opposite sex. Those without a higher authority are first to give in to the allure of lust.
Lust for it's own sake causes so many crimes against women and even children..
Lust is only your friend on initial contact after that she is your constant enemy.

Lust is wrong no matter how you look at it. It is a sin, but we all sin at some time and as long as you realize what you have done and talk to God for forgiveness and show him that you are working every day to live the way the Bible says and not sin all will be alright, but it is a sin therefore it is wrong to lust.

as a christian I don't think that judging someone for their human nature, or in general, is right. but i do believe lusting is wrong and if you or i were guilty of this only He would know about it. to be on the safe side i wake up and thank God to be alive and make a solemn promise to keep. before i go to bed at night i say my prayers and ask for forgiveness throughout the day as well for the things i know he does not want me to do. it seems to be working because i am very blessed.

Matthew 5:27 "you have heard that it grew to become into mentioned, 'YOU SHALL no longer dedicate ADULTERY'; Matthew 5:28 yet I say to you that all of us who seems at a girl with lust for her has already committed adultery together with her in his heart. Jesus mentioned that because of the fact He is conscious basically how evil and sinful someone's heart is. think of approximately it, if a individual is prepared to sit down down and sexually want yet another in an intense and prolonged way, what might preclude this comparable individual from finally appearing out his or her fantasies with an harmless sufferer? And for that very reason it truly is a sin to lust after yet another of their heart.

In a way man is an animal and therefore it is not surprising if he lusts. In fact it is normal too. However an educated and civilised person learns to control his emotions/lust knowing fully well it is inappropriate and a sin to lust and its consequences are always bad.

It's normal and it's something to be regulated.
The problem is that of selfishness. Lust wants for itself with no concern for that which it lusts for. It just wants to get off.
Also by continually feeding it, it gets stronger. It's a lot like people that have bad eating habits. If you love ice cream and eat too much of it and get fat, you'll just want more. If you try to control your urges and not eat ice cream, your desire for it will decrease. If, however, you start looking at pictures of ice cream sundae and such, and go to the grocery store and stare at the ice cream in the freezer or hang out at 31 flavors watching other people eat ice cream, eventually you'll start overeating ice cream again.

I personally think that LUST is wrong only when it is toward someone that you are not in a relationship with. It's not really about being a Christian. Being a Christian only emphasizes what I already feel is wrong.
Lust is having intense sexual desire or appetite (definition from dictionary.com). It's one of the 7 deadly sins.
It's wrong.

the feeling of lust is normal. It's what you do with it. Remember David and Bathsheba. He saw her bathing on the rooftop. He noticed her and lusted. The problem was not that he noticed, it's that he acted on his lust and got himself into trouble. A child out of wedlock, and then has her husband killed.
Noticing that a person is beautiful or handsome is normal...it's what your mind does after noticing that's wrong.
