Can I run rabbit ears(attane) through an unoperational direct tv reciver to get better picture?

DirecTV is a satellite service, and satellite signals require a dish to pick up. Anyway, the whole point of DirecTV is to convert satellite signals to regular TV channels that the TV can use. Rabbit ears will pick up regular TV channels broadcast in your area. but not satellite channels. If you have rabbit ears, they won't work with DirecTV, but you can hook them right to the back of your TV to at least receive local channels.
