2 meanings to the word TORAH (both accurate)

First meaning:

TORAH - literal meaning = Law
The TORAH is the Jewish Law
In order to be an observant Jew, you have to actually do a lot of practical rituals for example - dietary laws (not eating pig, not eating dairy and meat together etc...). Or Keeping the Shabbat Holy (not working on Saturday, not driving on Saturday etc...)
Moses brought the TORAH to the Israelites/Hebrews from mount Sinai. The Ten commandments are part of the TORAH, The essence of it!!!

Second meaning:

When Jews refer to the bible they actually refer only to the Old Testament.
The first 5 Books of the Old Testament are Called also - TORAH - and they are the 5 books of Moses:

1) Genesis (בראשית, Bereshit: "In the beginning...")
2) Exodus (שמות, Shemot: "Names")
3) Leviticus (ויקרא, Vayyiqra: "And he called...")
4) Numbers (במדבר, Bammidbar: "In the desert..."), and
5) Deuteronomy (דברים, Devarim: "Words", or "Discourses")

just type in [origin of the Torah] without the brackets and you get a lot of good choices, including a printable copy of the Torah.
