I have read some of the answers here and I have to say I was not surprised by a lot of the comments about Islam nor am I surprised about all the comments about Christianity. I am a Pagan and as such neither a muslim nor a christian and I have this to say. You should research both and some other religions also then pick the one that is right... FOR YOU! I have read the misconceptions about Islam and also at other sites I have read the misconceptions about Christians. I would tell both sides do not take things at face value, nor should you beleive every interpretation of people, the media or anyone else but you should do your own search ask questions then make up your own mind.

Wow, lots of answers here, but only one was anywhere near close. My two cents. Yes I was born in a country that was predominantly Christian. Does this occlude me from being able to consider the facts of various religions? I based my belief on faith. But faith has to have a promise or a message. The religion of Islam is a warrior's religion. It teaches that you are to be at peace with your neighbor because an army can't win battles if it's too busy infighting. Islam teaches that every other faith is to convert to Islam or leave the area the Muslims claim for their own, or die.

Christianity is not a passive religion. It is passive aggressive like the civil rights movements of Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela and Gandhi. In fact all those movements were based on Biblical direction. There have been great atrocities committed in the past by Christians but this has been condemned as directly against Biblical principals and is not practiced today.

The aggression part of Christianity is to speak the truth out loud and everywhere. The liberals of the world consider this to be persecution against non-Christians. But lets compare Christian 'persecution' to the persecution Muslims perpetrate on the world, especially their own. Death threats made on their Jewish neighbors. Not just of some attacks until you surrender, but the threat to kill every Jew until they are no more. To rule the entire world by force, imposing Sharia law including the restrictions on women to not leave home without a male escort, not to go to college or even grade school in some cases., not to drive, and not to show any bit of skin in the presence of a man.

In their attempts to persuade the west, they have bombed Spain, Israel, England, and the US. They have sent suicide murderers all over the world to subdue them.

And these aren't just some loose nuts running around in the hills with an eccentric millionaire funding them, they have their most popular religious leaders and political leaders speaking hate speeches to thousands, they have anti-western propaganda on their TV networks running 24/7.

You can hear it in their own words at my blog.

We are living in the world which hated Christ to the point that it crucified Him in a most ugly way. Christ although had the power to do every thing He may please but He obeyed the will of the Father, and submitted himself to that will. Our God the Father was pleased to crush Him to death so that the sins of Humanity may be paid in full. And thus it was done indeed. God accepted the sacrifice of Jesus and accepted the reconciliation Jesus provided between man and God. The relation ship of man with God has been restored because of Jesus the Christ. After Christ death and miraculous Resurrection, He was given, by the Father, all the power in the Universe. Christ ascended and sat on the right hand side of the power, and He was given to be in full charge of every thing.

It is not the case which one is better than the other. It is the case which one is Genuine and truth, and which is seems to be truth and genuine. You have to be the judge of that yourself. There is one way that lead to heaven above, that way is Human sympathy and love as revealed to all human and documented in the Bible. Your conscious must be able to give you the answer.Behind Christ death on the cross was His love for Humanity. The Devil is wide awake and He hates Mankind enormously.

The question is silly. If you grew up being taught about Islam, you would most likely prefer Islam. Same thing goes for a Christian. These are two of the MAJOR religions of the world.

CChristians don't blow other people up. And say I'm a Christian and I'm doing this because I'm a Christian.
Muslims do.
Christians don't say they are going to get 72 virgins, Muslims do.
Christians don't say kill every last Jew, Muslims do.
hristians don't say the Jews should be exterminated from the earth, Muslims do.

one fundamental difference
in christianity -jesus has died(but not died-resurrected) to pay for the sins of all humanity so there will be no accountability

in islam every single person will be held accountable for his or her deeds. you have the coice to do whatever you want but you will answer for them. no one can pay for your acts.

further bible was consolidated by a council of political elite about 250 years after christ. Quran was written down as the words come out of massengers mouth. study and make your own mind up.

allow me to clear the air first here first is the difference you know whom we are by the garb in which we wear at all times in public,by our conduct at all times in public you mostly do 2 things when you come upon us anywhere in the world first you give us respect second you shy away from us seeing how we conduct ourselves thinking they live really sheltered lives!

Second we only pray worship and believe in Allah (God) Swt!
we know Jesus (pbuh)! which gives us a straight path to Allah's ears and this is the way it is to be done and this is how we do things and follow not just claim to be something and we only deal with those whom are Muslim and Islam to the one and only Allah Swt!
and i know we are better and yes i am correct there fore i give no apologies i am not trying to harm only educate!
we mind our own business the Christians are always in our world trying to chatter and corrupt it with fast food wine and freedoms that only corrupt the Islam way of life!
the Muslims are BEST and you know this is what all the hate is about not the fact that we are lower and many many Christians each day convert to Islam properly dress and love the culture and the truth!
rarely do a Muslim convert to Christianity!!

It is better to be a Christian, because our Savior came back from the dead- there were many witnesses who have had a chance to save their own life by denying that they saw Him 3 days after he was hung and pierced in the side (blood and water came out)The guards who were to watch the grave were allowed to live, to lie about His body being taken. Muslims prove by their writen and practiced religion that anyone who does not belive like them, is not worthy and treated as second class. They kill as part of their beliefs. Mohamid is dead.

Well here is just a few basic points:

Christianity does not suggest or condone killing anyone.
Islam suggests and condones killing infidels, Jews and Christians.

Christianity has the perfect sacrifice for sin made through Jesus.
Islam requires animal sacrifices for sins still

Christianity teaches to love your neighbor and pray for your enemies
Islam teaches convert them or destroy them.

Christianity exalts Jesus who lived sinlessly and gave His life for everyone who will believe on Him
Islam exalts Muhammad to be equal to Jesus (and all other prophets) and accepts and condones Muhammad marrying a 9 yr old girl when he was over 50

Those are just a few points
