Our government is misleading and lying to us. The reality is that illegal immigration could be simply stopped for little money. We simply need to remove all incentives for them to come here illegally and they will self-deport.
1. Remove all social programs to illegals. No medical (except in emergencies to ship them home), no welfare, no food stamps, no anything.
2. Stop the anchor baby laws.
3. Fine or jail employers who do not register and pay taxes on all employees. This includes day laborers.
4. No more schooling for illegals. It costs about $10,000 per kid per year. Why are we paying for their education?
5. Tell all illegals that they can either leave peacefully or they will be removed. Those that are caught here after the grace period will face deportation and will NEVER be allowed into this country again for any reason.
6. Make all illegals caught here work on the border fence before they are deported.
7. Make English THE language for this country. No more printing every government form in multiple languages. No translators paid by the government. No requirement that the police be able to speak spanish.
The money we would save in taxes from the costs these people place on us will easily pay for any increases in the price of a head of lettuce.

All that you say, I believe is pretty much the truth. For some time now I have been aware of this selling out to special interests that do not encompasss the well being and welfare of the majority of tax paying, legal citizens in the USA.
It's time for a major revolt or overthrow or for and accounting to be held/mandated by the average folk of America.
It may be too late. We have been screwed, blued and tatooted by our government for the benefit of large, wealthy individuals and their businesses here and abroad.
What to do? Voting doesnt seem to get the job done any better.

Ha, I'm illegal and NONE of your silly "facts" refers to me. I pay taxes, as do 66% of illegals, have no kids, pay all my bills, do no crimes, don't live off welfare(that's for legals only!).
And of course we have to send out income HOME, since we have no security here. If we were legalized, we would buy homes here and invest in this country. Now it all goes back home.
You just have to remember a few things:
1. Not all illegals are Hispanic
2. 66% pay all taxes and bills
3. We are not leaving until we get out legal status for which, UNLIKE you, we've paid with our sweat and blood for many years hard work!
4. Deportation of hard workers will cost you more than the comprehensove immigration bill
5. Inflation will go up , since you Americans won't pick any produce out in the field
6.You are a nation of immigrants (the term illegal came to life just now, it didn't exist when your ancestors showed up hungry on crappy coats and stole the land from the Indians).
7. Documentation will mean those 100-66=34% of illegals will start paying taxes and contribute more to the US economy.
8. Noone kicks out cheap labor.
9. Some "legals" are more of a problem than all illegals taken together.
10. Again, we are NOT leaving and you CANNOT deport us. Get used to it.

I'm afraid our govt has already sold this nation ... by signing the spp agreement, we will find ourselves without borders as we now understand them by 2010 ... no wonder the govt doesn't want to do anything about the illegal immigration or secure our borders ... or does anybody really think that IF our Commander in Chief really did want to secure our borders, he couldn't do so? He could, he has the power, but he doesn't have the will ...

It is sad that this is the case that with all these illegals and their constituents mostly anchor babies themselves... memorial day we should march against the illegals... call the national security office and bug the crap out of them till we get some results we are not paying them to sit on their arses and do nothing....

The gubmint done sold us out! And just where the hell IS all that $$$ going that's being sent to the illegals' relatives in Mexico? Don't sound to me like they're using it to try & make THEIR country any better. The illegals here in the U.S. are able to buy customized vehicles, get married, buy houses, receive social services by stealing real U.S. citizen's soc security numbers, get a U.S. education because OUR teachers' time & resources are being used up teaching them english, destroy OUR local culture, take our jobs, KILL - RAPE - ROB and then hide out in THEIR country to avoid prosecution, blah, blah blah, and the list goes on and on and on. Ya went and got me all riled up with your question and there just isn't enough room on this site to post all my rantings about this subject. Besides, I gotta watch my blood pressure.
