I understand that the two phrases don't go together...but it can. So I wanted to know if anyone's had a successful commited relationship from a casual relationship.
Another note: The guy that I've been seeing for over a year recently told me he might be moving back to his home town. We really haven't had a commited type talk. We've just kinda went with the flow of things. Exept about 6 months into the relationship I brought up the fact that I wasn't pleased with him for getting jealous for me talking to other guys (same with him talking to other girls) if we weren't serious. He said you're right it's not like we're bf/gf. Well I was disappointed I guess because the relationship wasn't really progressing anywhere. So I kinda got mad, left & didn't talk to him for a month. Then I we made contact again after a month & now we're back to our thing. But I'm taking it slow like he wants it, so I don't call as much & I don't act like his "robot" jump through hoops to see him. So...

When he decides to leave...should I say "well if sex makes you happy, hopefully you'll find happiness back home?" lol is that mean to say? Sorta like getting my last dose of self-respect? Or should I have a serious talk with him? I'm not sure what he's thinking, BUT the only thing that throws me off is that he has asked me twice where I got my jewelry from, I wear rings on my right hand. Is that a subtle hint at something?

He is hinting he thinks someone is giving you gifts definitely. He seems very insecure about the relationship and doesn't believe it is serious to you. I would let him go back home, tell him you will miss him and to keep in touch. See what happens. If not really seriously about him then, end as friends.

I was just in the same situation and it lasted over a year. The only difference with me is that i did mention us being a couple several times and his sorry excuse was that he wasn't ready for a relationship right now. I just stopped talking to him a week ago and it's been a little over week since I talked to him last and it's extremely hard because he live RIGHT accross from me so I see him on a regular basis. I realized that I am tired of crying over him because he doesn't want to be in a relationship with me. I know that I can do better and I deserve a committed loving relationship and I am too old to be playing these casual sex games. I want a husband one day and I know I am not going to find one messing around with committment phobic men. He is an a** hole for non chalantly leading you on to believe that you are his property. Always remember the phrase, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free." And I like this phrase too, "Look at it this way, everyday he gets to see what he can't have and everyday you get to see what you don't want to have."

i don't think getting a real committed relationship out of a casual one has ever worked. if the phrase has come up well its not like we're bf/gf. i think from a guy point... he does not think High of your feelings NOT to talk to other girls. if he thought anything was leading to commitment he would hold you in higher regard. so basically u have the girlfriend job till he finds some one better.

Umm that'd just waay too slow though. I think this is the time to make a decision. Don't waste your time. Unless you actually like this relationship the way it is. BUT I think you know best.

Dish out the sex comment and then move on. Find another guy, this one sounds like a jerk. Good luck.
