This is simple, I live in South Florida and I dated someone that I met on the net. We got along so well, and we dated for a month. In one of our dates she told me she was dating other guys at the same time, thing that I did not like at all because I am not a consolation prize or want to be one more from the list. I started to call her and make another date but she always told me she was busy working, but in one weekend she told me she was going out with a guy. I dont talk to her anymore and I am trying to move on, I dont own her or anything. I did respect her because I turned down two dates because I focused more on her, but she did not do the same for me. I have two questions ...Is it ok for someone to date more than one person at the same time even if you are not having sex with any ?? or is it being single and being dating different people the same????

Dating more than one person at a time is acceptable, but only if it is mutually agreed upon by both parties. The girl you met on the net did admit to you that she was dating other guys,so she was being up-front with you. Apparently she just isn't ready for a more serious relationship right now, like you seem to be.

Yes. Unless the two of you have talked about exclusively dating each other, it is okay to date as many people as you or she wants. Not talking about sexual involvement either here. Just dates. I know its difficult not to be so passionate about one person and to make yourself even think about going on a date with someone else. But really, unless you were exclusive, you can't really hold a grudge. You should have told her in the beginning that is what yo preferred, to only date her and for her only to date you. If yo do not agree on it in the beginning, then at least feelings aren't hurt later on.

It is ok to date more than one person at the same time. But don't be intimate with any of them. It seems the girl you dated isn't really interested in you so you should forget her. Go out with others. When you date more than one you get to know who and what kind of person is suited to you. When you find the special one then just date her.

You said "I don't own her". Doesn't that tell you something? You already know she isn't "yours" so why worry if she is dating others? "Dating" is not the same as "committed" (which a lot of people should be) or "married" (which too many people only pretend to be). Dating is one of the benefits of being single! Enjoy the smorgasbord!! Sex is NOT a requirement with everyone you date, either.

Only if the people you are dating KNOW that you are also dating other people and the relationship (or non relationship in this case) isn't serious. In her case she did tell you but it wasn't ok with you so thats all that really matters. The main thing you have to do in life is NOT compromise yourself and you felt as if you would have been so you did the right thing not seeing her anymore.

I think as long as it's decided by both parties a head of time that you are not a "couple" then yes it is okay especially if you are not sleeping with any of them. The minute you start having sex with one that means your relationship has become serious and you should cut all ties with anyone else that you are seeing. It is wrong to have more then one serious relationship at a time. As long as its kept casual it's okay. Best of luck to you.

It's not ok to date more than one person at a time, people get hurt too easily that way, and it's just not okay. I've always thought that dating multiple people at the same time was cheating no matter what. hope that helped!

It's never good to string two people around and not be honest with them. How would you feel if what you are doing right now is being done to you? Honesty is always a winner over being a slime-ball.

I don't like it either, it feels bad. However, it's ok if everyone knows. You can look for someone else too, and if that second person clicks, that first girl probably took a dumb risk.

its okay to date multiple people, but its not okay to be going out with multiple people-yes, there's a difference.
dating is simply that-dating while going out is a girlfriend/boyfriend relationship....so dont be so hard on her, if you wanted to be the only one, you should've asked her out. give her another chance. best wishes!:)
