My cat has worms but I'm not sure what kind. I noticed them right after she went to the bathroom in her stool and they were 1- 2 in. long. And I also noticed them where she sleeps and they were like grains of rice.

Sounds like tapeworms. Cats get them by accidently eating an infected flea when itching. So either your cat has or has had fleas at some point.
See your vet. They can give the proper medication for your pets weight and get you flea medication that is safe fo rcats.
Tapeworms are gross, but in a healthy animal cause little in the way of problems unless there are several adults in the cats system.
Please dont try to treat at home. Most dewormers available at the pet stores will not work for tapeworms, only round and hook worms. Over the counter flea products arent as effective as what your vet will give (Frontline or Advantage) and can be very dangerous for cats.

White, flat and about 1/2 inch long, can be on stool or around anus and when dried look like grains of rice -- your kitty has tape worms. You can only treat those with medication from your vet. Tape worm medication is not available over the counter.

Also tape worms come from ingesting infested fleas. Put some Advantage flea killer on your kitty, also available from your Vet or from 1800petmeds.com. If you look you will find a salt & pepper looking substance on surfaces where kitty sleeps at. These are the flea eggs and droppings that are falling off kitty.

She has two problems fleas and tapeworms. The tapeworms will come back unless the fleas are taken care of too.

sounds like tapeworms which appear when a pet has accidentally eaten a flea, tapeworm segments may very likely look like grains of rice, for pictures of different worms see the pictures inthe link below, if you have a good stomach!

tapeworm segments look like grains of rice. I would bring a sample to my vet and have them identified for sure. the vet will give you a medication to get rid of them, dont try over the counter stuff it doesnt always work because different medicines are used to treat different parasites. does your cat have fleas? that's often how they get tapeworms if she does you should treat the fleas with frontline or advantage.

could be round worms, get a dewormer, it works for most type of worms....then starilize the potty spot, and get a new bed. they can come back.
