I follow some courses on Saturdays and some weeks ago during the tea break I found a piece of hair in my sandwich:( I left what remained of it in my dish and quietly put it back on the table.
Since then I've not had any sandwhich there!!
Do you think I should have told this to the persons concerned?

that was very polite of you. That already happened to me before, and I asked the waiter to replace the food because there is a piece of hair on it, in a nice way ofcourse. almost all food shops, restaurants etc will replace them with no questions asked.

You should have informed someone. Depending on where you were at eating that sandwich.
Most places require food preparers to where hair nets.
If they don't then they should at least require them to have their hair pulled back so that hair does not fall in the food.

And it does not matter that it was "just" hair as that one poster stated. If you pay for a sandwich the last thing you want in it is hair or anything else that does not belong.
Hair has germs on it just like anything else. Especially with all the hair products that people use in their hair these days.

I'm sue you did not ask for a turkey, ham, hair sandwich on rye.

YUCK

I tend to be too quiet about things like that too but you should tell them so that they make sure to watch what they are doing. I shouldn't have anything on my sandwich except for what I asked for.
Accidents happen and hair drifts but I thought that people who work in food service are supposed to have their hair contained either by being pulled back or in a net.

Hello, well, if I were to be in your situation, I would've tried to not draw a lot of attention the the hair ... And I would continue eating sandwiches there; I'd just be more careful. I don't think you should've told this to the persons concerned, because well, I suppose it was just accidental and couldn't have been helped, and it would've only made things kind of awkward.

I would have told them and asked for a new one with no charge cause that's gross and they need to keep their hair out of the food we eat!

i would not have raised a stink... I would have asked for a new one at no charge, and the food prep person should have been wearing a hair net....

A piece of hair isn't going to harm you. Quit being such a germophobe.

you must have informed.

hair is beautiful, we adore it when its where it has to be. but rejects and hate it when out of place.

sure there is a question of hygiene. but never let it ruin your day.

have fun, take care.

absolutely tell. you don't have to raise a stink, but if you don't tell someone, how can they correct the problem? you know, as in see to it that all their employees are wearing hair nets!
