It can be frozen for a short period of time. (3 or 4 months) Any longer you risk freezer burn. You need to use a freezer bag. If you blanch the corn, you can freeze it for a longer period.

Yes, boil water, put the ears in a few at a time, remove with a tong, plunge them in water with ice cubes added. When cool to the touch, cut the kernals off and put in containers or bags in the serving size you want. They'll taste garden fresh next winter.
