My heart nearly stopped when I saw the word KNEPFLE.

I am completely stunned. I have looked for this word for over 35 YEARS.
My family has been making these little dumplings and we called them kneflies (just guessing at the spelling). No one ever knew the correct spelling or could find where they came from. We did learn that they are similar to spaetzle, which is a German dumpling.
I cannot wait to email all my family and tell them that the mystery has finally been solved. I only wish my mom and grandmother were still alive so I could tell them about this fantastic find.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for asking this question. I can die in peace :)

By the way, I went to google and typed in the word "knepfle". They were a lot of places to go look and most of them can be translated into English if you do not know German or French.

don't know the exact translation, usually many foreign words don't have an english equivalent, but it has to do with dumplings.
