I have no idea what "colors" you are talking about, but I do have another idea. This is a routine I use every night to help me fall asleep and it always seems to work for me. What I do is once I'm in bed, lights off, ready to fall asleep; I just visualize a sort of story that relates to something in my life. For example my last story I would tell myself goes like this: I would pretend that my boyfriend, Jeremy, and I where out camping and aliens come and abduct us both. They then tell me that I am th queen alien and my boyfriend, who is also an alien, is my king (lover). During a war they had to send me to earth to keep me safe. Then once it was safe they sent Jeremy down to fall in love with me and bring me back.
This is kind of a crazy scenario, but it always worked for me. The one you create doesn't have to be weird, just interesting enough to keep your attention. Make it a fun and exciting, usually involving a boy makes it even more so. Also use details, lots of details and make sure you think it briefly all the way through first. Then start from the beginning and live your story.
Make sure it's long enough that you never make it to the end. You want to fall asleep before that happens. Like with my story I usually only make it about halfway through.
Okay good luck, I hope it helps -Sarah

Try not to think of anything, actually. She needs to give her brain a rest and if she's thinking, her brain is not resting. My doctor suggested using a fan, and not a silent one, one that actually makes noise. That noise is often called a "white noise" and to some it's soothing and lulls the person to sleep. She doesnt have to have the fan blowing on her, just keep it close by so she can hear the noise, and the noise the fan makes often drowns out other startling noises. Another suggestion is to buy a cd with natures noises on it. My personal favorite is the sound of rain....just rain, no thunder, no creatures chirping in the back ground, or the sound of a waterfall. Thats peaceful to some and can help. I sleep using a fan, faithfully, every night and I love it and would be lost without it.

I'm not familiar with color visualization. What has worked for me is to will each part of your body to relax starting with the toes. Next feet, ankles, calves, thighs, hips, stomach, etc. By the time you reach about chest level the zzzz's have set in. Another method is to count backward from 100 and visualize each number while synchronizing the counting with your breathing. Ex: 100 (slow breath), 99 (slow breath) and on and on. Usually by 60, I'm fast asleep even after a tough day.

Ive never thought of colors, but i also have sleeping probs. First, she just needs to get as comfortable as possible. If she uses a radio clock with a sleep function, turn that sleep function on to radio and tune it to some nice, relaxing music. Then, she should lie down, and completely just empty her head. She should not be thinking about anything at all. Then, think of whatever is most comforting, whether it is a family member, place, or whatever. Try to imagine yourself there, wit hno worries, and just gradually feel yourself sinking into sleep.
Tell me if it works phillip11_92@hotmail.com

There are plenty of non habit forming drugs to try on is Trazadone. other over the counter meds work but can form a addiction. I would try shutting the lights down soft music or a fan and making shure your head is on the pillow. if your waiting to get tired that wont work you have to be resting to fall asleep naturally

Drink a small glass of warm milk. Lay down on your bed get comfortable, close your eyes and take a really deep breath in then let it out slowly, repeat about 5 times. As you breath out say to your self over and over "I am sooo Tired"
