Eating yogurt containing "live cultures" or acidophilus milk, can actually reduce the side-effects of oral antibiotics by replacing the "good bugs" in the digestive tract. I routinely suggest this to my patients when I prescribe antibiotics.

Whether you should eat the yogurt within a short period before or after a specific antibiotic is a question for your pharmacist. Some medications, but not all, are absorbed better on an empty stomach.

The yogurt won't cancel out the antibiotic, but the antibiotic could cancel out the benefits that yogurt provides when taking an antibiotic. Does that make sense? Next time just eat them two hours apart.

They are fine to have together, the yogurt contains a bacteria that can help prevent yeast infections while on the antibiotic.

They should not interact with each other, especially since the antibiotic you are on is more than likely geared more towards what type of bad bacteria you have.
