A country can only be stable when its population is willing to work together. Iraq will not be stable as long as they are in the middle of a civil/sectarian war, the same conflict that's been going on (less violently before we showed up) for a quarter century.
The same applies to the US, by the way. We're reaching a point of polarization where there is so much hatred between the two ends of the spectrum that a functional government is almost unachievable. The only thing stopping this country from dissolving into civil war is the apathy of most of the middle 80%, and the few voices of moderation telling everyone to take a deep breath.
But if we don't start becoming more united, and less hate-filled at our own differences, we stand the risk of going the way of "divided we fall".

It is not related the United we stand and divided we fall comes from a time when we were in danger of not suriving as a nation. The Iraq conflict will not hurt the county any more than it all ready hasto leave are stay is not real that important. It would have been better to just have drag Sadom out in the street and shot him then left. The true is that Bush took his eyes off the Ball "Bin Laden" as long as he is free the poeple who support that kind of thinking will say "See God is saying that we did right. The most powerful county in the world can not find one simple man. Only God could make that happen." We will not have show that we can destroy the planning and the power behind the planning till things like that happen. I don;t see Bush or the USA doing thing like that it is just not in us to be brutal killers.

well being United doesn't help and being doesn't weaken us because no matter how some of us are against the occupation... I mean war (sorry), our troops are still going to stay and theres no point in united because we are not all over there just our guys in uniform.

What it means is if we don't take care of these crazy who are trying to kill us, we'll be fighting them here in the USA. People who say we should "talk" to the enemy don't see it straight. YOU CAN'T NEGOCIATE WITH PEOPLE WHOSE SOLE PURPOSE IN LIFE IS TO KILL YOU!
