Yes, and some of the most horrific people DO come to find Jesus before they die. Ted Bundy confessed his sins and accepted Christ. Of course, only Ted and God know if he was sincere, but if he was, he is with the Lord right now.
It's a hard concept for most people to understand, and accept. We are a punishment/revenge oriented society. Fortunately for us all is the God doesn't work that way!

Yes, if anyone repents of their sins and accepts the mercy of God before death may gain salvation. Just think of how much easier it is for you than for someone who has done a great deal of evil.

But the mercy of God does not cancel His justice either. But then your question is directed towards the minority of Christians who accept Luther's outdated teaching on legally declared righteousness.

The 400 year old dispute was resolved in the Joint Declaration of Justification between the Catholic Church and the Lutheran Church. It's a shame so many Christians are locked in to outdated and discarded ideas.

osama would never accept jesus the way Christians do...he believes in him as a messenger of Allah(god) coz he is muslim..and only god knows if he (osama) is going to heaven or not...but as a muslim he is finally going to reach heaven as all muslims are going to..confessing is not the way to go to heaven...if so George bosh,Sharon,Saddam Hussein or any other killer of innocent people can confess and go to heaven while they don't deserve it..and finally only god knows where osama or anyone is going after death..by the way i am not christian
