ok my cat gets these weird bumps under her chin, blackish.SHe is fully clawed and i wonder if she could be puncturing the skin when she scracthes herself, and anyways when i wash the sore off its bloody underneath,so i put nesporrin on it.It goes away for maybe a few days and comes back.THis vet in training i talked to said it was because of her plastic bowls,so i got stainless steel dishes...still got the bumps. What could it be??what do i do to treat it??? Does your cat have this too?????

cats can get acne, which can be aggravated by plastic and other environmental elements. Sometimes it happens because under the chin is the one place they can't clean very well. Stridex pads can help if that is the case. If she continues to get the bumps, or if they start swelling it may be allergies; you can get a steroid shot from your veterinarian that will help get it under control. However you may have to repeat the shot every 2-3 months as the condition could flare up regularly.

It is likely acne. But not just plastic can be a cause. Food can as well.
You must very carefully read the ingredients that go into the meals you buy your pet. Listed items like 'beef meal' can mean anything - fur, hoof, infected meat parts. It's a real gray area. And a lot of these items are stuffed with sawdust and ash.
Look into getting your pet on a raw diet. Pet shops will can sell frozen meat that is specially ground with bone meal and vegetables. You can cook it, but you cat will love it raw as that's how they'd eat it anyways.
Making this change totally cleared away my pets skin issues. He was constantly breaking out in huge sores about the size of your palm. And of course scratching at them and constantly bleeding and running the risk of infection.
When we (husband and I) made this change his skin cleared up, his activity level climbed, he lost weight and he is all around much healthier and happier.

It does sound like cat acne. Try putting some peroxide on the bumps and see if that helps. Call the vet back and ask them what they recommend other than removing the plastic bowls.

It could be the stainless bowls too, as they usually have microscopic groves in them. I'd try glazed ceramic, as it has the smoothest surface and be sure to run it through your dishwasher at least once a week, daily if canned food is used. We have had success with Stridex Pads for Sensitive Skin used twice weekly.

i'm no longer a guy yet this manner of provides onto the question and an answer to adult men who say no gross ect ect. First, we won't help while we get zits! specific you could wash your face yet that would not make zits circulate away for stable! 2d, i've got heard that it is greater useful to get zits at a youthful age (<20 and decrease) because of the fact once you become previous your much less probable to get it yet in case you don't get it at a youthful age you're greater probable to get it once you're older. 0.33 all human beings is going to have a minimum of one pimple someplace on your lifetime I swear to it! So do no longer choose a woman or a guy who has zits because of the fact it is not our faults we won't help it and zits is generally led to by utilising rigidity so we get zits because of the fact maximum adult men rigidity us out because of the fact they gained't settle for us except we glance like Victoria secret fashions! So do no longer choose a woman or guy because of the fact they have zits because of the fact faster or later you have got it too.

My sister's cat had this exactly, and she switched to stainless steel bowls and it cleared up. Maybe you need to give it more time. Or else your cat might be allergic to something else like her food. ???

Better be safe and go to a vet not in training. Could be a disease or pests (ticks/fleas)
