I am a junior in college. I've picked a challenging course of study, and for the most part i've been successful. I am also involved in a few respected student organizations where I hold executive positions.

The problem is that I feel as though I am not good enough. That i'm failing; that no matter what I do everyone will find out that i'm some kind of phony... Why do I feel like I'm the dumb one that is surrounded by very intelligent people?!

We all feel this way at some point. Even the ones who are so boastful and cocky . 1st. STOP beating yourself up !!! Life has many ups and downs . We are always changing as we go along our paths in life too .
It's called growth , and maturity . You sound as if you are very bright and if you stay on course you could have a great life . Don't make too much out of this . Keep doing what you are doing , keep asking for help & hang in there .

ok, don't judge yourself based on your academic's. That is not what makes the man inside. You have to dig deeper.
You have to respect your self and other's too.
You can't get that out of a book or class.
It is just something you learn along the way.

Okay this might help. Make a list of accomplishments big and small. Academics and non academics.
Look at your grades too and ask your teacher their opinions of you. I hope it helps.
Don't put yourself down.
The feeling will go away.

get a good cognitive therapist who will help you with your "automatic negative assumptions." Your negative thoughts are not based in facts, but you mind behaves as if they are. You can unlearn this pattern.
