A girl I dated put me in the middle of a "Christian intervention" where I was bombarded with religious propaganda until I let loose a volley of reason, logic and indignation so forceful they had to leave and it was their house. Got a new girlfriend after that night.

grabiel s,
Many people bring it up the way you just did and it makes me wonder, are you really so solid in your beliefs that you never ask questions to those that think differently?

Sometimes I do this just to verify what it is others might believe.

And then there is the statement."Has anybody tried forcing religion on you before?"
What is forcing anyway. Is forcing just talking about it? Or are someones beliefs so indefensible that they tire intellectually that they cannot hold pace to someone well versed? I think that the latter is true many times. That the belief a person has chosen is so weak to give account of, they are incapable holding pace in a debate. Thus, resentment builds up because they don't have the ability to argue, staying topic, and come out well defended.

It's true that we all have the right to choose. That's God given if you ask me and no matter what the Muslims might say. But if you have your chosen belief and it doesn't hold water to someone that is confident in theirs, expect to lose the arguement. Sometimes it's good to lose a few, it can make you stronger, or it can expose to you the fact that you've been holding on to a belief that doesn't make sense. So there is good in the challenge to be had.

As far as forcing religion:
I understand that those Foxnews reporters were forced into Islam with a gun to their head. I call that forcing. Not just talking about it.

No, and I wouldn't put up with it. True Christians do NOT try to "force" people to accept Jesus, in spite of what a lot of ignorant people may say about it. Too many people out there just think that they are Christians because they go to a church. Just being in church doesn't make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you a car. It is the non-Christians who try to force their religion on people.

I agree we all have the right to choose. No one can force anything on any one.A good soul filled with God's love led me to the truth. With the God given conscience and by the grace of God I escaped from the fire of Hell."You can take a horse to the water but you can't make it drink".

I get Jehovas witnesses every couple of weeks and one time I was walking through my town centre and a large group of christians dragged me into a throng of people gathered around a man on a bench preaching very loudly. Hated every one of the two minutes that I was forced to stay there.

FORCING RELIGON ON INDIVIDUALS IS BAD, ALSO THERE'S NOT MUCH POINT IF THE PERSON WONT TAKE IT IN.
I GREW UP IN A CHRISTIAN HOME, SO GOING TO SUNDAY SCHOOL WAS NATURAL TO ME. AS I TURNED INTO A TEENAGER I REALISED YES THIS IS FOR ME, I GAVE MY LIFE TO GOD AND IT HAS BEEN GREAT, IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY , BUTS IT'S BEEN GOOD.

YES EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE, I WOULD BE MAD IF SOMEONE GAVE ME ONLY OPTION. BUT CHRISTIANITY REVEALS ITSELF.

I ALSO BELIEVE SOME YOUNGSTERS THINK RELIGON IS A FASHION PHASE, WHERE I LIVE THERE WAS A TIME WHERE ROSEMARY BEADS WERE "COOL" TO WEAR, BUT DID THEY KNOW THE MEANING?

SO THATS MA POINTS

Thanks for reading!

If you live in the US you sort of swim in a muck of Christianity. They only thing you can do is develop a shell. Remember, no is a complete sentence. I sometimes wonder how it must be to live in Sweden or the UK or some other post christian country and not put up with this bullsh*t

Everybody in Amerika who isn't Xian has people trying to force their religious beliefs on them. If you've voted for political candidates who are against gay marraige or abortion, or who try to get ID taught in science class as equal to evolution, you've tried to force your religious beliefs onto someone else.

Yep, Xians do it all the time, but usually I know more about Christianity than they do, so I have have fun playing with them. Sometimes they leave questioning their own faith, I just love that. And I never push my religion on others.
