My portuguese class will start one week tomorrow...I checked with the school and the staff told me that the teacher is from Portugal not Brazil. So I wonder what's the major difference between Portugal and Brazilian Portuguese? WHich one is more complicated?

they have a lot of different words, the Portugal Portuguese is more formal than the Brazilian, and the accent is different too...
I think it's kind of a difference as between American English and Britanic, when the portuguese of Portugal is as the Britanic english, and the Brazilian as the American- more popular and talked (in the street)

just pronunciation.... the accent is pretty different... some expressions are more used on one than another.... but you will have no problems speaking Brazilian Portuguese on Portugal or the opposite

Mostly pronunciation and word usage.
Portuguese from Portugal is a bit more "complicated" but not impossible. Boa sorte!
