Depends what country you are in.
This might be close:

Croissants
Jams
Bread
Orange Juice
Coffee
Fruit
Yoghurts
Waffles
Cereals
Butter
Maybe Meats

I think that's the average continental breakfast.

Basically, pastry and coffee, with some variations on this theme. No meat course, and the only hot food is the beverage. The 'continental' breakfast is contrasted with the 'english' breakfast, which is a larger meal than just pastry and coffee, and typically includes meat courses such as eggs, sausage or other breakfast meat, and/or smoked fish (kippers), and stewed tomatoes. If there was an 'american' breakfast it would have to be cold cereal with milk and juice or coffee.
