I found a miniture poodle, and I cant keep him, but he is really sweet and house trained. He also has good manners and doesnt beg or bark. I will give him away free to a good home.

We looked for his owner (he is neutered, so I know someone had him), but found no one. Please someone give him a proper home.

Just thought I'd let you know that you should never give a puppy away for free. You should at least have a $20 - $50 adoption fee, because many people look for ads just like yours to acquire free animals in order to sell them as laboratory testing stock. Since they usually only pay about $20 per animal, you should have an adoption fee of at least that amount to prevent this from happening. Not an unreasonable price for an adoption fee, and it keeps the puppy safe.

Right on Balletbabe,
I so agree. Please ask an adoption fee. People that pay for a pet are more willing to care for it. I wish I were there, I love poodles and have two. Contact the rescue that was mentioned, they wil do a home check and see if the home of any perspective owners is suitable for them. I mena what if the person you give it to, have another dog that does not like him, they will end up getting rid of him. What if they have kids that torment him, theyre are so many scenario's. I adopted out a poodle about two months ago, it took about 6 weeks to find the right home, but I found a perfect home for him.

I live in Nashville, but I don't care too much for dogs. Now, if it were a kitten...... If you live in a neighborhood, you could put flyers in mailboxes or at the grocery store if they have a bulliten board. You could put an ad in The Tennessean. If all else fails, take it to a no kill shelter. I'm not sure where it's located. I know there's a shelter off Harding Place by the airport, but I don't know if it's no kill or not.

I found this ad on petfinder for a lost dog. Not a purebred poodle but maybe could be the one you found? If not you can go to petfinder.com and place a found ad. They have free classified ads on there.

If you will take him to your local grocery or walmart - there is sure to be a taker. Just make sure he is clean and has a pretty bow around his neck. You could also contact Happy Tales., a local rescue group in the Nashville area. Try reaching them through "the factory of franklin" if they are not listed.
