Makes no sense does it? Why believe that an invisible man created the universe? It is funny if you think about it, isn't it?

The main argument for a creator seems to be 'complexity'; i.e., something as complex as the universe and the earth and life must have a creator... it is the only thing that makes sense. But, if you think about it (Christians are not renowned for their critical thinking ability), it makes no sense at all.

The argument that a complex creation requires implies that the creator must be more complex than the creation... otherwise, the creator would have been unable to create it. But if complexity requires a more complex creator, the fact of the creator's complexity means that it must also have been created... remember, according to this argument, complexity cannot arise by itself. That being the case, then, we end up with an infinite regression... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... etc... ad infinitum... ad nauseum.

That, of course, is impossible... and thus, so is the creator concept.

The simple, observable, fact is that complexity arises from simplicity, in accordance with very simple natural rules.

Interested parties should look up "self-organizing complex systems".

First at all, God isn't an invisible man. He isn't even a man. He is pure spirit. If God had parents or a creator, then His parents or creator had to have been created, and that creator would have had to been created, etc, etc.

I don't understand why some people can't fathom the notion that God, creator, an energy force, an intelligent being, whatever you want to call it, can just be. God being all powerful and all knowing would be able to just be. Why? Because He is God.

God is not an invisible man. He is the Almighty God, from everlasting to everlasting. He always was, and always will be. The universe needed a creator because in the beginning there was nothing. And if you believe some scientist, nothing went bang. Maybe some here can explain that?

I guess the point is that the existence of the universe really can't be fully explained by natural causes alone. You are smirking at the tendency of religious people to find a rational explanation of origins in an uncreated God creating the universe, while balking at the idea of the universe being itself uncreated.
The main idea is that at some point there was an initial cause that was not caused by something else, and whose origin is therefore unexplained. People of faith believe that that initial cause is God. Not being an atheist, I can't speak authoritatively for what they believe the initial cause is. There's plenty of talk about the Big Bang, but not so much about what caused it.

well, belief in GOD is a self choice, he has made it that way so that you can chose to follow him or not. i beleive in GOD just because, i feel like i need him so i chose to beleive in him, if this takes me to hell, i really could careless. if this ends up being like a resurrection where i come back to earth than forget it, because no matter what i chose to believe in him, i have no other hope or GOD that makes me feel this way(happy, and fulfilled). i beleive that HE has created the earth and since HE is, HE was, and HE made the earth. the creator can not be created, i beleive. _me*

Where is the beginning origin of any energy force in science... It is there you will find God...

Who ever said he was a man? Your underdtanding of things is lacking not God or those who believe in Him.

God is spirit... Everything vibrates.... There is God!
